Judith Stewart Pilkington, Class of 1966

Judith Stewart Pilkington ‘62 died May 17th, 2022. She was born on October 2nd, 1940 to the late Don and Mary Ellen Stewart.
She was a graduate of Belmont High School and then attended Otterbein College studying elementary education where she met her husband, Carl Pilkington ‘61. In her time at Otterbein, she was a part of the Epsilon Kappa Tau (Arbutus) sorority.
Judy volunteered at the Urbana Schools Kindergarten and started the daycare at the Mechanicsburg United Methodist Church. Judy was dedicated to the church. She had a beautiful voice and grew up singing in her father’s choir at the Belmont United Methodist Church. She sang with the Mechanicsburg United Methodist church choir for nearly 50 years. She was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Women. Judy also loved art. She was a great seamstress and created crafts which she displayed and sold at shows around the Midwest.
Judy is survived by her husband, Carl ’61; children, Tara Clark, Chris; grandchildren, Bryan and Emma; step granddaughter, Shawna Moore; step great grandchildren, Ethan and Eli Moore; step great-great granddaughter, Madalynn; siblings, Nancy Stewart, Tad, Stewart and Betsy Welch as well as several nieces and nephews.
