Leslie Mokry, Class of 1972

Leslie “Gene” Mokry ’72 ASN ’85 died September 16, 2019. Gene was born May 12, 1950 to the late father Leslie Mokry Sr. ’47 and surviving mother Marilyn Steiner Mokry ’47.

Gene attended Otterbein University as a traditional student, graduating with a BA in Psychology in 1972. He returned as a continuing studies undergrad earning an Associate of Science degree in Nursing in 1985. While at Otterbein, Gene was a member of the ‘O’ Club, Eta Phi Mu (Jonda) fraternity, Band, and Campus Crusade for Christ. Gene was an Air Force veteran and retired from nursing after many years.

Survived by loving wife of 33 years Margaret, sons Jeremy Mokry and Tim (Sheila) Branson, sister Jana ’74 (Rhey ’74) Mullen, grandchildren Faith (Jarratt) Pierce and Joy Branson, specially dear to him was Armando (Eymy) Lezcano and their children Armando and Susan, numerous nieces, cousins.
