Mary Eileen Hill Smart, Class of 1948

Mary ‘Eileen’ Hill Smart ’48 died August 27, 2018. She was born in Piqua, OH on June 1, 1926 to the late Lester Hill and Irene Gladys Freeman Hill.

Eileen attended Otterbein College earning a BA in biology with a minor in English and was a member of the Tau Epsilon Mu (Talisman) sorority. She then went on to receive her MA ’65 from Miami University: Oxford. She studied education at the Ohio State University and was employed in the State of Ohio Education Department as a school administrator. She was a member of the Missouri Synod Lutheran Church and was affiliated with the Order of the Eastern Star.
Eileen is survived by James Smart, her husband of 15 years. She is also survived by her step-son, Mark Smart (Bernie) and step-daughter, Juli DelGiorno.
