Mary Eindom Salter, Class of 1956

Mary Eindom Salter ’56 died March 26, 2021. She was born Aug. 11, 1923 in Westerville, OH to the late Irvin and Sara (Wilson) Windom. She earned a bachelor’s degree in science and mathematics from Otterbein College and was in the Sigma Alpha Tau (Owls) sorority. She worked at the Westerville Public Library for a number of years. She also worked as a bookkeeper for an insurance agency in Sunbury, OH. During World War II, she assisted in the war effort by inserting fuses into hand grenades. Her favorite pastimes included reading, knitting, walking and participating in the aquacise class at the Otterbein swimming pool. Survivors include: daughter Carol (Tyler) Cassedy, grandson Robert (Lorin) Cassedy, granddaughter Lisa Cassedy, 2 great-grandchildren: Nicolas and Alina Cassedy. Preceded in death by: parents Irvin and Sara Windom; husband Bill Salter; son Stephen Salter; daughter Jerrie Anne Salter; sister Betty Setty.
