Phillip Detamore ’55 died May 18, 2022. He was born July 25, 1933, to the late Kenneth ‘24 and Dorothy Detamore.
Philip graduated from Jackson High school and continued his education at Otterbein University. During his time at Otterbein, he was a part of Choir and Pi Kappa Phi (Country Club) fraternity. He then continued his education at Ball State University where he earned his Bachelors. Then he attended Penn State where he graduated with his Master of Education and went to work for the State of Ohio Department of Education.
He was a dedicated member at his church, Church of the Messiah United Methodist. Along with this he was a lifelong member of the American Motorcycle Association.
Philip is survived by his children, Lorrie Pratt, Kathy Detamore, Dan (Kathy) Detamore, Chrystie Cannon, Sheri (Carl) Teeter, Matthew Boyd and Ann Boyd; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Along with his parents, Philip is preceded in death by his brother, Bill Detamore ’51, sister, Betty Shives ‘51 and aunt, Sarah Ann Detamore ‘26.
