Richard Bishop

Richard Bishop ’55 died Jan. 12, 2021. Richard was born Oct. 1, 1933 in Los Angeles, CA and raised in Ohio. Richard attended Otterbein University where he was in the Zeta Phi (Zeta) fraternity. He earned a Master’s Degree in Education at University of Southern California.
Richard served in the U.S. Army from 1956 – 1958; he was stationed at Fort Chaffee in Arkansas. Richard taught in Palm Springs, CA and in Garden Grove. He was School Administrator for Charter Oak School District: Banna; Willow; Glen Oak; Ruddock Middle; Willow; and Badillo. Richard was involved in his sons’ sporting activities (Little League, Soccer, and YMCA Indian Guides) and often assisted as chaperone on their field trips. Richard was a Member and Past President of the Kiwanis Club of South Hills in Covina. He was a longtime member and Deacon at Northminster Presbyterian Church in Diamond Bar.
Richard is survived by his wife, Silvia, sons Bradley (wife Alexandra) and Gregory (wife Christina), and granddaughters Erika, Allyson and Natalie.
