Robert Rode, Class of 1990

Robert Rode ‘90 died Aug. 9, 2023. A bachelor’s degree in science and a member of Jonda fraternity, he earned a master’s degree in business administration from Emory University. He had a 25-year career at Merck, where he was instrumental in shaping the marketing strategies and performance of some of the company’s most important medicines and growth drivers.  Following Merck, he used his expertise at Apnimed to assist in the development of a therapeutic treatment for obstructive sleep apnea. He loved dogs, which he often noted he liked more than people. He was also a talented sketch artist.

Rob is survived by his three children, Ethan (Kelsey); Caleb (Laura); and Jonathan; and their mother, Dawn Calder Rode ‘87. He is also survived by his mother, Jean.
