Robert White, Class of 1959

Robert White ’59 died January 23, 2020. He was born in Gahanna, Ohio to the late Stanley and Leona White on Feb. 17, 1935. During his time at Otterbein, Robert was involved in the Leather Helmet Gang and as a member of the football team. Robert was an accomplished athlete. He was a 3 rd round draft pick for the Baltimore Colts in 1957 and was on the professional wrestling circuit for many years holding a Championship Belt. He was very dedicated to physical fitness for many years up until his early 80’s. Robert retired as Union President Local 423 in Columbus, Ohio.
Robert is survived by his wife, Jackie Kennedy-White; two sons, Mark White and Bob Pomeroy; two granddaughters, Casey & Katelyn White. He is preceded in death by his parents, Stanley & Leona White; sisters, Betty Chadwick and Dorothy Johnson; and brother, Edward White.
