Ross M. Morris, Class of 1954

Ross Morris ‘54 died on Oct 7, 2018. Ross was born in Bellefontaine, Ohio, on Oct. 28, 1931, to Ross and Juanita Morris. Ross was a 1949 graduate of Miamisburg High School, a ’54 graduate of Otterbein College, and received a master’s of education from Miami University in 1961. He served in the US Army from 1954-56. He dedicated his life to education, serving as a teacher, principal, and assistant superintendent for Miamisburg Schools.

During his time at Otterbein, Ross was a member of “O” Club, Pi Kappa Phi, and the track and field team. He is preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law Hubert and Lillian McLocklin, and sister-in-law, Phyllis King Morris ’52. Ross is survived by his wife, Betty Morris; children, Dan Morris ‘86 and Melissa Morris; grandchildren, Keaton Morris and Abby Morris; brothers and sisters, Onnolee Morris Mills ‘49, Lowell Morris ‘52, LaRene Morris Bruggeman ‘57, Gary Morris, Lynn Morris Vogt.
