Ruthann Williams Bennett, Class of 1955

Ruthann Williams Bennett ’55 died Dec. 31, 2018. Ruthann attended Asbury College and graduated from Otterbein College in1955. She married Jerry L. Bennett in 1955. She was a teacher in Westerville City Schools and Columbus Public Schools for 27 years and influenced the lives of many. Ruthann received the Valley Forge Freedom Foundation Award in 1975 and was a Jennings Scholar in 1974 and 1977.

She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Jerry Bennett and grandson Barry Newlin Jr. She is survived by her children, Randy Bennett, Elizabeth Sue Bennett ‘79, Fred Bennett, and Sarah Bennett (Morelock); her eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; her niece, JoAnn Williams; and her nephew, Dick Williams.
