Sandra Rubino Paul, Class of 1946

Sandra Rubino Paul ’46 died on Jan. 14, 2019. She was born on June 14, 1923 in Mount Vernon, Ohio. Sandra attended Otterbein in 1942 until her husband, Kenneth returned from World War II in 1945. Sandra cared for her two sons, Craig and Steven, while the family moved to Lancaster and Ashley. When they returned to Columbus, Sandra was able to finish her bachelor’s degree and obtain a second grade teaching position at Glenmont School. During her time at Otterbein, Sandra was a member of Theta Nu.

Later, Sandra donated the fencing around the Otterbein football field and funded improvements to the visitor bleachers in memory of her husband. Sandra and her family helped establish the endowed Kenneth R. Paul Family Scholarship for Otterbein students pursuing their educational dreams. Sandra was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Paul; son, Craig Paul; and sister, Rosa Rubino Bucco ’50. She is survived by her son, Steven Paul.
