Susan Cotton Eynon ’70, died March 28, 2023. Sue was born March 5, 1948, in East Cleveland, OH, to Donald Cotton, DDS, and Phyllis Jean (Barndt) Cotton.

Sue was a lifelong teacher in and out of the classroom. She earned a B.A. from Otterbein University and a Master of Arts from Youngstown State University. While at Otterbein, Sue was a member of the Student Governmant/Senate and an honorary of Phi Sigma lota. She was the beloved French teacher at Canfield High School for 42 years, from 1970 to 2012, mentoring generations of students and leading over twenty student trips to France and Quebec. She was also an adjunct professor at the University of Mount Union. After retiring, Sue worked at Tri-County Rehabilitation in Canfield, OH. Sue loved people, and she was a trusted advisor to many. She was wise, passionate, and loved to laugh. She had a momentously positive impact on her students, colleagues, friends, fellow churchgoers, loved ones. Everyone she met became part of her community.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, William Edward Eynon Jr. (“Bill”), who died one year prior. She is survived by her son, William Edward Eynon III, her daughter and her spouse, Bethan Eynon and Jonathan Crawford, her sister and her spouse, Nancy (Cotton) and Don Berkey, and her brother and his spouse, Tim and Margaret Cotton.
