Susan Walsh, Class of 1989

Susan Walsh ’89 died October 31, 2019. She was born August 24th, 1967 in Evanston, Illinois to the late Charles Melville Walsh and Susan Stanley Walsh. The youngest of nine children, Susie grew up in Barrington, Illinois and attended Barrington High School. After graduating, she was admitted to Otterbein University where she earned her BFA degree in Theatre Design. While at Otterbein she was involved in the Theta Alpha Phi (drama) sorority.
In 1989, Susie packed up her life and moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in stage management. She has spent the last 28 years as a very successful, respected and revered Stage Manager. In Los Angeles, Susie has stage managed over 150 productions at theaters such as, The Mark Taper Forum, The Ahmanson Theatre, The Geffen Playhouse and LATC as well as the Pasadena Playhouse. In New York, Susie stage managed Putting It Together with Carol Burnett.
Susie was preceded in death by her beloved soulmate Ken Berry. She is survived by her eight siblings, Michael (Janie), Charley (Michele), Kevin (Katharine), Stephen (Maura), Joseph (Helene), Katie (Paul), Matthew (Eileen) and Andrew (Lynda). She is also survived by nineteen nieces and nephews and four great nieces and nephews.
