Anthony DeStefanis specializes in modern U.S. history with an emphasis on labor and the working class and immigration, race, and ethnicity. His current research uses the Colorado National Guard and the 1913-14 southern Colorado coal strike to examine military strikebreaking. Nick Robinson’s research interests investigate the relationship between urban redevelopment policies and community resistance to the effects of gentrification in American cities. Specifically, he considers whether community benefits agreements can serve as instruments to effectively mediate between the expressed preferences of neighborhood residents and developers’ interests in long-term growth and profitability. Deborah Solomon, Ph. D., is an Associate Professor of East Asian History and the Department of History and Political Science chair. Her scholarly work focuses on the Korean peninsula under Japanese colonial rule. She is the author of articles analyzing the intersections of colonialism, gender, identity and power. Her current book manuscript, “Schooling Discontent: Education, Identity and Student Protest in Colonial Korea, 1910-1945,” examines student resistance to Japanese rule on the Korean peninsula.
