Search the Course Reserves

  • From the library’s webpage, select Course Reserves above the red search box, enter a search term (examples below), and select Search Course Reserves.
    • Course Code (i.e. INST 2001)
    • Instructor Last Name
    • Keyworked search for a specific item within course reserves
  • On the search results page, sign in via the yellow bar in the middle of the page or by clicking Sign In in the top right corner. Follow the sign-in instructions provided.
  • Once signed in, use the Tweak Your Results facet on the left side to narrow down your search to the correct course materials.

How long can I borrow Course Reserve items?

Our Course Reserve collection includes books, articles, videos, and music that have been given shorter loan periods as designated by professors for use in specific courses.

Loan Periods
2 Hour (Library Use Only) These materials circulate for 2 hours and may not pass the security gate at the entrance to the main part of the library. This loan period is only available for Faculty Owned reserves (if requested) and any other items that the library deems appropriate.
2 Hour These materials circulate for 2 hours but have no location based usage restrictions.
1 Day The materials are due at the time the library closes on the day specified.
3 Days The materials are due at the time the library closes on the day specified.
7 Days The materials are due at the time the library closes on the day specified.

Westerville Public Library Book Nook

Opening in the spring of 2018, our Book Nook collaboration brings a browsing collection of popular fiction from the shelves of Westerville Public Library to the hands of the Otterbein community. All items are available for check out under SearchOhio circulation policies and new books are brought in every 3-4 months.

Faculty & Staff​ Development Collections

The Center for Teaching & Learning has partnered with the library to create a rich collection of resources on Faculty Development. This section of the library is housed on the third floor near the CTL offices. Found in that same area is a collection curated by the Center of Teaching and Learning to support staff development.

Otterbein Young Adult Collection

The Courtright Memorial Library’s Young Adult Collection (or YA Collection) is located on the lower level of the library next to Sarah’s Corner and outside of the Lower Level Learning Lab. In this collection, users will find classic and popular works of fiction by authors including Jason Reynolds, Rainbow Rowell, and John Green. Although these books typically target readers between ages 12-18, YA is popular with adults, too! This collection is updated frequently, so keep watching for new books from diverse authors.

Otterbein Game Collection

The Game Collection, found on the first floor of the library along the western wall, consists of board games, video games, roleplaying games, and materials about games and gaming. Items from the Game Collection can be checked out and taken out of the library for use.
