Campus Center Renovation Phase Two: DINING UPGRADES

Greetings From Vice President for Student Affairs

Dear Otterbein Students,

Bill FoxI’m so excited to tell you that Phase Two of Campus Center Renovations is already in its early planning stages. We’re looking to make big changes to your dining experience – from the dining space to the kitchen layout and program offerings. Most importantly – all this work is about YOU and is focused on your experience gathering together in the center of campus. We are exploring what we can do to make the Campus Center and the dining experience more inviting, more modern, and certainly a more meaningful space for our students and our community to dine, connect, relax, study, and make memories. This means that with every design question, every hope or idea for the new spaces, and every bit of investment we are hoping to improve the experience of our current and future students.

Over the coming months, I hope you’ll visit this page to learn the latest project details, to share your opinion and insight as we make decisions about the aesthetics and the amenities of the space, and to get important news about how the project will fit into your daily life at Otterbein. We are working toward the new dining experience being completely online and ready for your use as soon as possible (completion anticipated January of 2025).

As we get started, I would appreciate it if you would take a few short minutes to complete the survey linked below. Your voice and your ideas matter to the work we’re doing. Tell us what you think and what you hope this project might be able to achieve by completing the online survey below.

As always, I’m here to build and support your experience as a Cardinal. Just let me or any of the listed students, faculty, or staff members of the CC-Reno Planning Team know what questions we can answer as we work through this exciting process and investment in our student dining experience. We’re pleased to partner with BHDP Architecture, REITANO Design Group, McCarthy Consulting, and our chosen construction management firm and its contractors. As work advances, you may see these partners in the Campus Center from time to time. We look forward to seeking your engagement via surveys, design forums, “intercepts” for 1-1 conversation during dining hours, the new website, and presentations at OUSG.

Thank you for your interest and input as we begin, and for your patience and understanding as we begin and get into construction and renovation phases. Here’s to building a new and better Nest for all of our Cardinals!

Sincerely,
Bill Fox, EdD
