Professor
Daniel is a philosopher. He specializes in psychoanalysis in a variety of disciplinary contexts.

Susan Constable
Professor & Department Chair
Dr. Constable taught in public schools for ten years before earning a Ph.D. in Literacy, Language and Cognition from The Ohio State University. Her research interests include early literacy acquisition, struggling readers, and teacher education. Her favorite part of this job is working with Otterbein students and children from the community in the Otterbein Summer Reading Clinic.

Dee Knoblauch
Professor
Dr. Dee Knoblauch is a professor and the Education Graduate Director at Otterbein University, where she primarily teaches educational psychology, multicultural education, and 21st Century technology and curriculum. Her research interests include motivation, multicultural education, children/adolescent literature, and creativity. Dee is a former physical education / health high school teacher and collegiate coach, and she currently stays involved by coaching and watching her daughters’ sports teams.



Diane Ross
Professor
Diane was a middle graders teacher for 17 years. She now teaches undergraduate and graduate level courses in middle childhood education and multicultural education. In addition to her passion for teaching, Diane has been traveling to Uganda for the past 10 years with Otterbein students to develop libraries and work with young adolescent girls on menstrual hygiene management, sexual reproductive health, and empowerment. Diane has two sons and three grandsons with whom she loves to spend time.


Bethany Vosburg-Bluem
Associate Professor
Bethany (Dr. B.) is a former high school teacher who taught social studies and coached soccer for 14 years in Kettering, OH. She currently enjoys teaching a variety of students through the general methods courses for the AYA-MA program as well as the PreK-12 social studies methods courses. Her research interests and passion revolve around deepening her knowledge about sustainability education and sharing it with others. Paul Wendel
Professor & Department Chair
Paul Wendel taught high school physics and mathematics for 18 years while earning master’s degrees in physics (Kent State, 2003) and education (University of Akron, 1998). Upon completing his Ph. D. in Curriculum & Instruction (Kent State, 2008), he joined the physics faculty of Mansfield University of Pennsylvania, where he taught education, science, and research courses; served as planetarium director; and co-founded a farmer’s market. Fred Fastenau
Coordinator of Teacher Candidate Supports
Fred Fastenau is a former elementary teacher, elementary and middle level principal, and central office administrator. He was an Education Association executive working in education policy at the state and national level. He has taught graduate level courses in School Law, Education Leadership, Human Behavior in Education Administration, and Introduction to Education Administration. He is a licensed Superintendent, School Business Manager, Principal and Teacher.
