David Robertson

David Robertson

Professor & Department Chair

David Robertson is a theoretical physicist with research interests in elementary particle physics and high performance computing.  His recent research has focused on computational tools for precision calculations in quantum field theories.  He has also worked on Hamiltonian approaches to strongly interacting field theories, including the light cone formalism, and particle physics phenomenology.  He received his PhD from the University of California at Santa Barbara, and held several postdoctoral positions before coming to Otterbein.  Dr. Robertson teaches courses throughout the…

Nathaniel Tagg

Nathaniel Tagg

Professor & Department Chair

Dr. Tagg is a researcher in experimental high-energy particle physics, specializing in neutrino physics. He did his Ph.D. work on the Sudbury Neutrino Observatory (SNO), contributing to an experiment which eventually resulted in Art MacDonald's 2015 Nobel Prize in physics in 2015. His current research is with on short- and long-baseline liquid Argon TPC experiments. He has worked extensively developing accessible tools for data visualization and teaching. Like other members of the department, Dr. Tagg is deeply invested in development…

Uwe Trittmann

Professor

Dr. Trittmann is a theoretical particle physicist. After receiving his doctorate from the University of Heidelberg in Germany, he did post-doctoral research at the Weizmann Institute in Israel and at the Ohio State University. His research focuses on the properties of lower-dimensional quantum field theories. Often he uses numerical methods to obtain results concerning the energies (masses) of bound states of fundamental particles. Dr. Trittmann teaches the gamut of physics offerings, from the introductory sequency to advanced topics, and the INST astronomy course. He is…
