Writing Center

The Writing Center offers a variety of services to help you write essays, research papers, compositions, and more. We offer:

  • Help with any part of a writing assignment
  • Advice on how to identify and target recurring problems in your writing
  • A good listener if you’d like to try out an idea

Per Otterbein University policy, facial coverings are mandatory indoors in all common spaces, including classrooms, hallways and stairwells, shared study rooms, and offices. As such, students must be fully masked to use any of the services at the Academic Support Center and when occupying shared Academic Support Center working areas, such as the Math Lab, Writing Center, Testing Office, and Chem Learning Center. Students not wearing a mask will be asked to wear one before they can receive services from the Academic Support Center. If students do not have a mask, one will be provided. Students who refuse to wear a mask will be asked to leave and reported to the university for noncompliance.

Once students submit the request, they will be contacted via email by the Writing Assistant within 48 business hours to schedule the appointment.

“Having someone to bounce ideas off of and strengthen my ideas while writing has helped me.”
