Andrew Mills arrived at Otterbein in 1999 and since that time has taught a wide range of courses in Philosophy, Integrative Studies, Senior Year Experience, First Year Seminars, and Honors. His teaching interests are wide ranging--everything from logic to Socrates to Existentialism. He has a strong interest in the history of philosophy (especially the classical period in Greece and Rome and the early modern period in Europe), in environmental philosophy, and in the philosophy of happiness & well-being. Stephanie Patridge spends most of her time thinking about imaginative contexts such as videogames, digital artworks, jokes, and pornography. She often focuses on issues that pertain to identity and social location. She teaches classes in aesthetics and philosophy of art, philosophy of games, philosophy of race, and ethics. Dr. Patridge is also the Coordinator Liaison to the Arts and Humanities departments at Otterbein.
Alexander Rocklin received his PhD in the History of Religions from the University of Chicago. His work examines the politics of the category religion in the interactive making of Hinduism, Islam, and Afro-Atlantic religions in the colonial Caribbean. His first book, The Regulation of Religion and the Making of Hinduism in Colonial Trinidad, released in spring of 2019 from the University of North Carolina Press, looks at the role of the category religion in the regulation of the lives of Indian…
