Season of Giving

Kristen Iversen
Through the years, Otterbein has built Growing Traditions that have stood the test of time since its founding nearly 170 years ago. Today, as we reflect on many time honored traditions like the Otterbein Love Song, the Tree Lighting, doughnut runs, painting the rock and a commitment to equity and inclusion, we are reminded of one important tradition older than the University itself: giving.

Ms. Mary B. Thomas '28 provided her gift through an estate endowment to fund the tradition of the Otterbein Common Book Program now in its 22nd year. Author, Kristen Iversen, pictured on the right, was on campus in October.

Mary B Thomas common book initiators Four ladies inspired by Ms. Thomas to start the Common Book tradition, Alison Prindle, Beth Daugherty, Dean Joanne Van Sant and myself.

With your support, Otterbein will continue to grow and flourish so that the next generation of students will join us in experiencing these same traditions.  Stand with me and consider, in this season of giving, a gift to Otterbein by December 31, 2016.
