Otterbein Family Engagement
You are a vital part of the Otterbein family.
Otterbein values the opportunity to work with you and your student throughout their entire university experience and beyond. We’re grateful that your family is now a Cardinal family. Our goal is to create a partnership that enhances your student’s success.
The university offices and departments linked here are the most frequently requested by families, but if you don’t know where to go, please contact us at the Office of Alumni & Family Engagement. We’re here to help:
Hours: 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m., M-F
The best place for information on Otterbein’s COVID-19 response is the Protect the Nest webpage.
Otterbein COVID-19 Dashboard: The dashboard will be updated weekly on Tuesday and includes weekly COVID-19 testing and positive cases data, as well as cumulative data with the effective start date noted. Data for students comes both from on-campus testing and self-reported positive results of tests conducted off campus. Data for employees comes from self-reported positive results of tests conducted off campus. Please be aware that if your student tests positive for COVID-19 through an off-campus provider, the student must contact the COVID Support Team at 614-823-1586 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Questions: If you have questions or need additional information, please contact the COVID Support Hotline at 614-823-1586 or email@example.com.
Summer Counseling Services Available
Counseling services are free for all registered students.
There are two ways students can access counseling services this summer:
- If students reside in the state of Ohio, they can meet with Dr. Ryan in-person or virtually from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on weekdays. Call 614-823-1333 to schedule appointments or register online at www.otterbein.edu/counseling.
- If students live outside of Ohio or if ANY students want to reach counseling after-hours, they can speak by phone with off-site licensed mental health professionals at ProtoCall, by calling our office number: 614-823-1333. These counselors provide risk assessment, safety planning, and immediate crisis stabilization. They also can provide support and problem-solving strategies. ProtoCall staff coordinate care with Otterbein’s Counseling Center staff and maintain confidentiality except when there is risk of imminent and serious harm or abuse. ProtoCall hours are 5 p.m.-9 a.m. weekdays, and weekends from 5 p.m. on Fridays to 9 a.m. on Mondays.
ProtoCall is a new option for students with mental health needs. It extends the hours and reach of the Counseling Center by providing telehealth services from qualified counselors.
